WHITE HOUSES;

my dirty little secrets.

Maybe I wasn't as strong as I thought I was. Yesterday's counselling I managed to put a brave front, but not today. My team attended Mr Loh's wake today and emotions just ran high when I presented his mother with a little token from the team. It was heart wrenching. I can't describe the feeling but it's something I wish I never had to go through again. My head still hurts from all that crying and I couldn't bring myself to eat dinner earlier. It's all going to take some time. I seriously can't go on blogging, shall post the tribute I posted on km on behalf of the team yesterday with of course Lom's flare in literature and Grace's input.

Track and Field: Our tribute to Mr Stephen Loh
Just as the mist it rises
Then vanishes way down the stream
Mr Loh too has come and then left us
Today it seems like a dream
That he was so much part of our lives
That he lived and loved as we do
Like the fish that a fisherman threw
Back in the stream to go on its way
And that is what he is doing today
To a bright new world, see the sun glitter
As he drifts from sight, though our tears are bitter
We know that he, like the salmon's leap
Will always be there in our memories deep.

Although its only been less than half a year that has gone by since Mr Loh joined the Track and Field team, it feels like he has been in this family since Day One. He contributed in a myriad of ways, often reaching out to us as a Friend and going beyond his duties as a teacher and coach. As we got to know him better, he shone just like a beacon of light to guide us along the way, be it in training or simply giving us encouragement. "Don't say Cannot, sure can one!" was something he often said to us, giving us enough motivation to follow through with the tough workout or to complete the grueling long runs. Caring not only for our progress in our sport, he constantly enquired about how we coped with our studies and how we were faring emotionally. He never scolded us, instead, he would reason it out, letting us know that he had our best interests at heart. He gave of himself and more to the team, never refusing help or putting certain tasks beneath himself, our very own giving tree. Although our first impression of him was that of a stern “Ice King”, revealed to us was the warm and jovial teacher who would joke with us, entertain us when we claim that “We’re bored!” and listen to us whine about how we find the workout “So tiring!” Even though we would constantly complain to him about how we found the workouts too tiring and the muscle aches that ensued, inside we looked forward to each of his trainings as we knew that we were getting stronger. Truly, Mr Stephen Loh built us up not only to be physically stronger but also to be mentally more resilient while encouraging us to push our limits and helping us realize our full potential.

Missing you.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF MR STEPHEN LOH

A friend to most, he placed his students in front of him as Mr Irwan puts it. He dedicated his time to the Track and Field team, always staying through the entire training, guiding us, encouraging us. "Don't say cannot sure can one." The last training we had with him, while we were doing strengthening exercises, we grumbled and whined that we were very tired and aching all over. He said "Finishing already, don't think about how many sets more." He bought new shoes recently, all geared up for the Standard Charted Marathon, looks like he wouldn't be able to participate anymore. Never will I forget the day Melissa and I spoke to him in the staff room and asked for his consent, to allow us to become OGLs. Even though we cried then cause he refused, we didnt blame him cos he gave us reasons why he objected. Now, that corner of the staff room will be empty, unoccupied, until a new PE teacher comes along. And this teachers day, we presented him with a big cardboard with welcome wishes from the team and I still remember him saying to me "I'm very touched." He looked like he was going to cry as he read the little notes one by one. But I guess in life, there comes a time to say goodbye. Although we never got the chance to do so, never thought that last monday was the last time he would be taking us for training, we know he will always remain in our hearts. These 6 months with him as our teacher has already created an impact on us athletes. We're going to keep his never say die mentality and strife for the best in future. His belief in us, we must not let down. I'll miss you Mr Loh. Rest in peace.

Life is fragile.
Sometimes the most unpredictable thing happens at the most unblievable time. The feeling of losing someone pretty close is really terrible. This morning I thought Mr Loh called me, to tell me he's safe and sound and I was listing out the other athletes who were concerned about him too. I was happy to hear he's safe, but how was I to know that it was just a dream. I opened my eyes and found myself crying in bed. Mummy came into my room then and asked if i needed counselling. Hah what rubbish. So the next thing I did was to check my phone. Lom and Wilbert said it was reported that they found a body suspected to be Mr Loh. WTH. Checked the newsapers but it didnt mention. We're all hopeing for the best, for a miracle to happen if possible. Yesterday I entertained many calls for the trackkers who were all distraught upon hearing the news. Asking me if it was true. How I wish this damn thing is just a nightmare. The time of accident was when the exco was having ice cream and I still rber how we were talking abt mr loh and his fitness. Everything now seems so surreal as Grace puts it. If we as his students are already feeling so distressed, I think his family members are having a harder time... I shall go to the temple this afternoon to offer a little prayer. That's the least I can do. He was such a nice, friendly dude. Why why why.

Food Trail recky with exco today was very exciting! :) We set off at 9.15am only to end at 4pm =X I think the atheletes are going to be really tired that day, esp after night cycling the day before. Haha but I'm sure they'll have lots of fun, I can't wait either!!! :D I think the track exco's and of course the team's really really bonded now, after the 6 meetings we already had plus quite a number of outings! YAY :) I can't list down where we went etc etc in case I leak out any clues before the camp itself. But anw, we all had fun tgt and laughed alot. Typical njc trackers. Haha still rber how jon or choonboon said my family was a midget family yesterday at trng :X And today, they keep calling me SMALL GIRL. HMPFF, but nvm i'll take it as a compliment I don't look 17 ;)

The ice cream man who play tricks with customers. Haha Loms has fast reaction! (: And Grace screamed when he pretended to drop the ice cream. Speaking of which, she screamed so loudly at the bus stop when i merely called her name to tell her we were at the wrong side :X Haha grace ah..

Ohh look at Jon eyeing the ice cream! Haha it was quite shiok, 8 scoops in there. NICE! Now I know Jon gets very overly happy when we talk about girls and geylang. HAHAHA.

The lovely Track EXCO! :) though we're missing out usarin and qiulin. I must say they're all a wonderful bunch of people to work with. With very different personalities, I'm really pleased we all get along well tgt! <33

My first PayCheck.
So i finally got a taste of how it feels like to work, in an office-Dell. Haha if you think studying is boring and dreadful, wait till you work. Especially those office jobs, it's really terrible! HAHA but i was paid $8 per hour and that's quite good! :) And all i had to do was step up the computer, listen to music to hear if there's any buzzing sounds, and i even get to watch movies! Big momma's house! Sounds quite slack? It sure is, except that you'll suffer from headache and eyes-ache from viewing a 30-inch screen! =X Who in the right mind would buy such a big screen for a monitor, it feel liks my house's tv!! So $95 for 1 half days, it sure was good money, and i partly enjoyed myself though i was complaining to my parents after the first day yest. Hahaha at least i went with sheng, else i think id'd rly be so bored all alone. When i grow up, i want an EXCITING job! :D

Bee Movie last night was quite nice. It was a free move ticket from Home teamNs cos i won some achievement award of $600! Woohooo, usarin wants to rob me. Haha so anw, my family and i felt quite cheated cs the movie was at 9.15pm, made us wait for 2hrs! We were all tired by then and seriously wearing heels for one full day(i counted 15hrs) is crazy. How can people even wear heels and walk or shop?!?! It's such a torture! Haha anyway back to bee movie, although the storyline was purely fictional, very unlikely to occur in reality, i think it was pretty entertaining! (: I laughed quite alot like those little kids in the theatre too. Haha my father actually fell asleep! Goodness, but well Bee Movie is not bad frankly. Graphics are nice and clear, watching it in what they claim was sg largest digital cinema-lido 1. i felt like i was on some roller coaster while watching cos the bee flies so quickly and u literally follow the bee's path. Haha i shant continue abt the movie cos i dont rly think i'll pay $7 to watch cartoon, unless im still a child. Haha so so, yeah it was nice anyhow (:

This week has been awfully slow and boring :(
Been staying home every single day leaving the house for training only. RAHHH staying home sure isn't fun, lots of homework to be done yet can't get myself doing them. All my good friends in nj track are all either in YLTC or OBS so trng has become a little less noisy, esp without Loms and Grace and that quite sad! And mq's nt arnd to talk to me too! Well at least they're coming back tmr, finally! :) Sighs and i think I injuried my right arc somehow. The pain still there and I cant exactly run properly. Terrible. Basically this week has been the worst week of the holiday! :(

Shopping with yenfang earlier was lots of fun! :D Im dead tired now and my legs are aching quite a bit, stupid lunges we did for 150m yesterday. Okay, so i think I've enough shopping for the time being, spent $53.10 today!!!! Anyway, I've already bought all that I need to so time to save up some money and start doing the piles of holiday homework else I'll never finish it. Ohh, i got my eyebrows trimmed today for the first time!! Haha it was quite a cool experience and it was free! Grace and I intended to go threading at Little India on friday initially haha looks like I've got a good bargain. Save money too (: All track girls can now look fine and dainty with neat eyebrows and painted nails! HAHAHA when we saw wanching with thinner eyebrows yesterday we were all screaming cos she actually went facial! Haha way to go ching, now you must learn to walk more feminine-ly. HAHA =D

Buffet lunch at Pariss tmr, I can't wait!

Goodbye PW.
PW is finally over over over!!! WOOHOO :D And that means the start of my holidays :) OP wasn't all too bad today except that our movie clip just refused to play during our presentation when it could before that when we tried. How frustrating, But well, I am just glad that PW is now over and I DO NOT have to stay up to do WR etc etc anymore. The course of PW was definitely not an enjoyable one and thank goodness there isn't such thing anymore next year. Nevertheless, I'm pretty proud of my project still :) Look at some of our props below, quite impressive huh ;)

These are consoles used for our puppet show :) It looks quite similar to the actual handheld onoles right?

And our brochures! HAHAHA intentionally made to look like the PSP and the printing was very well done. Best thing was I didn't have to pay a cent cos the supplier said it only cost a few cents so he didnt wana charge us. Haha.

OF course, our postcard, i know it looks dumb but yeah its to show the technological change of Mario! :)

Yes, no more PW makes Lynette a happy girl. I'm so going to enjoy my next few days of holidays before i begin my homework. And I realised that when you have company on the bus it really makes ur journey seem ALOT shorter, provided u an keep the conversation going. Spoke to Kok Hao today after PW and surprisingly we could chat non-stop! I'm amazed too (: Especially when I discovered so many things like my friends in council telling those I do not know about me! Haha well well I think that's just how you make new friends. Okay off to o2Jam again :D
