WHITE HOUSES;

my dirty little secrets.

Monday, December 31, 2007

Went town to shop a little with my parents this morning before meeting some of the trackers for lunch. I saw this white blouse which I really liked from Dorothy Perkins but it costs $46! :( Too expensive for a simple top so I didn't get it in the end. Lunch at Swensens with part of the team, and first time meeting them after I got back and I got teased AGAIN. Adrian, told you u can't do so anymore in the christmas message! Hmpf. Haaha anyway, we watched I Am Legend there after and gosh, the ending is so abrupt and not nice! =X It began with so many nerve wrecking scenes, frightening us in the midst of nowhere. The five of us girls screamed so many times and Grace was telling me later we were the only ones screaming in the cinema! HAHA but seriously, I was really shocked when something scary and disgusting looking appeared out of the blue. Came back home after the movie and yes, I'm staying home for countdown:(

So it's the last day of the year once again. Frankly this year isn't my best year and time really crawled for me. Looking back, 2007 started off on the high and ended on the high too. However, Term 2 was horrendous as far as I can remember. I recall how at one point I really hated NJ, how I really dreaded to go to school each day. And how often I broke down then, it was one of those emotional roller coaster rides. I don't really know how everything changed for the better somehow, but it's funny how I am known to be all cheerful and happy-go-lucky now (: I think the best moments this year were probably Orientation 1, those days when there wasn't any homework at all and we spent the time slacking at the grandstand as an OG. And after school were trainings cum chit chatting with track seniors. Reality soon struck and I must admit how much I dedicated my time to track and tapestry, neglecting my studies hell alot. But these 2 turned out to be a success especially track. It the first time I ever qualified for both my events, smtg I could not achieve in the 4 years in Crescent. So looking back, I still have no regrets. The greatest surprise was exceeding expectations to do well for O's and being rewarded unexpectedly in many ways. Haha I can still remember how elated I was seeing my results slip and crying over the phone as I told my family and friends the good news :D Then being the COTY was yet another pleasant surprise. I'm also grateful to the trackers and teachers who gave me the chance to lead the team. Initally I was sore over the fact I couldn't sign up to be a councillor but slowly I accepted it and I think I'm better off not being one. Now I can't express how happy I am to see the team more bonded now than before. How most of them are more commited towards trainings and going out more often as a team. It brings joy to me to hear others saying how they love the team now, and so do I! :))

But amidst all these happiness, those upsetting moments have been plentiful too. Misunderstandings, friendship problems, doing badly for tests and exams and the list goes on... The inability for the Cross team to claim top 4 positions for Nationals really made me upset for days. The cold hard truth of getting 5th made me cry the whole time at Turf City, I doubt I'll ever forget that day. The stakes were high, so much was expected of us and yet we failed to produce any results despite the initial success at minor cross country races. I really really hope that next year, we will not be resigned to the fate of getting 5th for the third year in a row. We ought to train doubly hard. Heh as much as sometimes I really don't enjoy running and racing in particular, I hope to make the best out of the last year in Track. After that, I'll probably only run to keep myself fit. There are many other emotional incidents that happened this year of which I kept to myself most of the times, making it almost unbearable, especially in school. Quite sad to have drifted/lost contact with some of my best buddies back in Crescent, but yup I'm sure we'll put the effort to try to meet up once in a while. Well I've learned how we should always put behind those upsetting memories and only keep the happy ones. "Think happy thoughts!" I'll always remember this phrase which I can't remember who told me so. Then the demise of Mr Loh put the team in much tears and disbelief. The uncomfortable silence that hung during trainings that followed suit. Took us about a week or so before we managed to really out it behind us because he instilled in us some values which we'll never forget. Never say you can't cause you can. He has done more than we could ask for during the short time to impact us so much. Hmmm reflecting on the things that occured this year made me realised that it has been an eventful year despite the miseries.

2008 is going to be fun yet challenging. I'm scared yet looking forward to it. I'm not going to make any new year resolutions cause I was reading my diary earlier and my coach, Mr Lin, once told us we should not make resolutions cause we end up not achieving it. Just set your goal and work towards it. Take things in your stride and things will naturally turn out the way it should be :) But one thing I definitely will try my best to fufil is not to doze off in lectures or tutorials anymore! Can't afford to slack, it's gonna be a hectic 2008! =/ Speaking of which, I have yet to complete my homework up till now. Oh man.

Anyway,
HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS! :)
Have a great year ahead!

Btw, there's this inter JC pageant contest thingy I just found out about from an ex-crescentian. I realised that NJC female contestant has the highest number of votes! I know she's wendy's dance friend. The guy is not too bad, think he's ranked 4th though I don't recall seeing him before. Haha check it out if you want, you can vote too. The link's below :)

HOME SWEET HOME

I'm back, finallly!!! (: I miss many many people and I miss Singapore! The trip was quite a disappointment, sight seeing was quite good, food was so-so (it was an unhealthy diet, had fast food 5 times in 8 days!), shopping was bad. I think initially we were still enjoying ourselves but slowly it became very boring and those hours spent on the bus travelling from city to city made me eager to come back to Singapore. The last day was free and easy and probably the best cause it was just shopping from 10am to 5pm. The only fruitful shopping day but then again there wasn't much to buy especially cause of the winter season. And yes, the temperature was freezing cold, half the time I was shivering despite wearing so many layers :X I have low threshold of low temperatures, i slept with a sweater and gloves and socks. Haha the hotel doesnt have heater. Anyway don't ever book your trip from Travel Star, seriously it's BAD. It made such a huge bluunder and cause my family so much anxiety on the last day. The issued us the wrong flight ticket which stated 1600 when the reciept and the time of flight we were scheduled for was at 2340. Gosh that was probably the worst time for us all, realising it only at 7pm when we were about to leave for the airport. And after calling the agencies they confirmed they made a mistake and yes, we missed out flight already. Seriously we all panicked, my brother and I were afraid we had to stay for one more night, praying we could get seats on the 2340h flight. In the end, after all that hoohaa we were made to pay 2000yuan in total as a penalty :/ Irritating, but Travel Star gonna refund us or so they say. Whatever it is, the trip was really ruined right from the beginning after discovering some discrepencies in the prices of this tour. And they brought us to some places in each city and made us obliged to purchase the city's well known product if not we can't leave the room. Wahlao, that was really another worst part and it made us spent alot of unnecessary money. Well I'm just thankful we're all safely back in Singapore (: It's definitely one of those not so fun holidays but at least I visited another country. Okay a few of the many pictures now.

Smelly Tofu!! I tried it for the first and it will probably be my last time! Haha disgusting.

This is the biggest xiaolongbao I ever seen! It's quite tasty too, and unique cause you drink the soup from a straw.

My family!!! :D This was in Suzhou at Ou Garden, it was very pretty there! Wuxi Three Kingdom Movie City. This is the place they usually flim movies. These 'warriors' are twice my height! :X

The warrior ship we sat in to view the Tai Lake.

One of the shows we watched. It's quite fantastic cause we only see this scene on movies :)
This is a lame shot, an attempt to be compressing the building but its so unrealistic!

OHH this was our hotel in Nanjing, the person who designed the bathroom mus be crazy. It totally transparent so we had to resort to putting a towel to cover it up :X but in the end, we went to one room to bathe while the rest waited in another room.

HAHA there were many of such funny notices around. As in the translation in English was quite cute ;)My tour group :) The family on the left stayed with us throughout while the Malaysian couple only stayed for 3 of the days.On christmas, my brother and I wearing red (: But we were very silly, we thought this was the front when it was the back.

This is actually the front! HAHA this is called a pixiu. We bought 4 miniatures as it is said to bless the family etc.

The big cruise at night. We were in it looking at the old and new Shanghai.

Orient Pearl TV Tower, I think it's very famous in the world. It's like 460m tall.

Westin Hotel. I wanna stay there :(
The wax musuem, I wish we had more time there!! Then I could have read all the writeups about China in the past etc. It's a very pretty musuem.
Daddy pretending to speak to the figure. Haha he posed with many diffrerent figures throughout the night.

And finally, taking the Maglev Train to the airport. It took us 8minutes sharp only and moves at 33okm/h. Feels like taking a plane somehow.

So that's the end and 2007's coming to an end too. I better finish up my remaining work SOON. It's back to reality already! BOO.

A day spent with the people who make me the happiest.

Training at Macritchie this morning and we did at fast paced 7km run. It felt good after it, and thank you Qiulin for encouraging me and running with me after the turn! :) If not I think I would have given up on myself, and just ran slowly. So the team went to Seoul Garden after that and feasted. Haha I ate to my hearts content cause the next time I go there will probably be quite a while. Besides I don't think I'll be eating such food over at Shanghai too! But of course I cannot compete with the guys over at the next table cause they really ate their $14.10 worth of food. Though I must say the after effects for them were pretty amusing :D Hahaha the cannot-take-it-anymore look on their faces, especially Adrian, Edmund and Sashti just crack me up. So in the end, we had to take a bus to Plaza Singapura instead of walking. But all the better, saves me and Qiulin from being too vunerable :P Yiyan and Cara didn't join us for the movie so it was left with Qiulin and I being the only girls. Haha National Treasure was nice, I'm so glad I watched it before I left. It was an exciting show, certainly worth the money (: After the show, the two of us plus Edmund and Adrian went to shop for christmas presents. It was so crowded in Taka but we managed to get all we wanted too. Thanks Adrian for the GREEN nice smelling Lime Soap. I LOVE it. I'm so touched by the stars and heart you guys folded, for me! Hahaha and of course I'll wear the red hairband in Shanghai Qiulin!! Haha on Christmas! Thanks :) Walked to MRT with Edmund and the fun day with the trackeers ended just like that. But well, as you can probably tell, I'm very very happy today. The company with the trackers is always the best! The team makes life in NJ so much more bearable and fun of course! It's the best way to spend the last day in Singapore before I leave tmr. Thank you people! I'm gonna miss my buddy, my silly friend and the track team the most over at Shanghai! :D Take care u all, Jon's gonna to your big brother next week!

Today's been an awesome day, one of the best this holiday. And my neighbour super funny, out of the blue ask me whether I wanna exhange gifts for Christmas. Haha don't worry, I'll try to get you what you want, Qingsheng! :)

So Shanghai tmr, I'm extremely excited. No trainings, no homework for me for the next 9 days how shiok! I seriously can't wait, probably won't be to sleep well tonight either. Haha. Goodbye Singapore (: Be back soon. Take care people and MERRY CHRISTMAS in advance to all.

Just came back from Adrian's house at Kovan. It's not really as far as it seems, I took less than an hour by train. Anyway went with Qiulin, Edmund and Sashti and had a pretty productive study session there! His house is big and neat and clean, very condusive for studying. No one was talking and so I managed to complete more than I expected to. Which leaves me with my Econs Essay and 2 more AQ only, YAY :D Oh and it's such a small world cause his siser happened to be my primary school friend! And I even remembered her name although we never really talked. She remembered my name too! Looking back, I think we were in the same class in Primary 3 and 4, that's why. Haha so went to Heartland Mall for lunch at yoshi and we stayed there for like 2 whole hours?!?! It's only today that I found out that guys gossip alot too! Found out alot more stuff from them and yeah at least now I know both sides of the story. It gives me a clearer picture and I know how to judge things now. But I really found it amusing chatting with them, Qiulin and I were like listening attentively while they fill us with all their stories! I just hope things will not become any worser. Went home with her after that and we chatted, told her some personal stuff and found out more before she had to leave. Haha, it's always nice to chit chat to friends and not worry about any other rubbish like schoolwork :)

3 more days before I leave for Shanghai, YAY :D But I'll be coming back to Singapore at like 5am on 30th and I have a class gathering that day too. Gosh I think I'll be so shagged.

Christmas pleasures.
I just love the christmas season. Christmas songs, carols, sales, shopping etc makes me happy! (: Shopped from 12 to 7pm today and yesterday and needless to say my legs are aching badly now. But at least it has been a rewarding shopping trip, my family spent lots of money today. It seems crowded everywhere, shopping malls, restaurants, food courts ahh people are just spending more these days. Really, I think Singaporeans are more affluent now, either that or everyone's just more willing to spend. Haha guess the economy's growing :) Oohh, my wish for a particular christmas present has come true already! I still remember telling my classmates when we went out after Promos how I wanted the White Musk set from Body Shop this christmas and my mum just surprised me when she asked me if I wanted it! HAHA actually it's a gift from her collegue but she doesnt want it so I can have it. Yay, I like :) But somehow I think it was bought overseas cause the packing is different, but doesn't matter.

Sleepover at Miaoqun's house was great as usual. She rebonded her hair!!! Haha almost didn't recognise her at first. We watched Enchanted like finally, and it's a really really sweet fairytale kind of show. No regrets watching it! :) And we baked a blueberry cake, it's quite dry but still nice. Tastes like apple crumble cause of the topping, heh I'm so proud of our cake. I wished I had an oven in my house too and I can bake cakes for my friends' birthdays. At night, we sat at her balcony and chatted. Oh man, when I grow up I wanna stay in a house that allows me to star gaze too. It's wonderful how you just sit down and look into the sky, take some time to think about your life and the future to come. It's always nice to have heart to heart talks and talk about almost everything under the sun. But whenI'm with her, it's mostly about .... HAHA ;) Thanks mq for your time, I really had fun!!

Next week's gonna be serious chionging homework time. I'm left with 2 chapters of the Maths Holiday Package, 4 GP AQs and Econs Essay + Quiz. Leaving for Shanghai on the 22nd so I must really complete all I can by 21st so I can throughly enjoy my holiday! Though I heard from my brother our airline sucks, No TV, No radio and the meal come in ration packs!?!? Please tell me it isn't true else that 5 hours on board is gonna be terribly slow and boring. Oh well, I'm still excited for the trip cause I heard the shopping and food there's really good. Just worried it'll be too cold since I'm very scared of the cold. Experiencing winter for the first time ever, I hope it'll be fun. Heh 7 more days! :)

Lynette's a cheerful girl.
Many people been telling me that lately and I guess I've constantly been keeping my spirits high which is a good thing! Anyway the cross team ran from school to Suntec City this morning, 71 minutes! (: Running with more people is much more fun, and it prevents you from giving up halfway. Although we attracted stares from people who were mostly on their way to work, it was quite exciting running past Wisma, Taka etc. I was still telling the others how someone may just take a photo of us and send it to STOMP and we'll be famous overnight, HAHA. Came back home to cook pasta for lunch for my brother and I before playing tennis. Tmr sleeping over at mq's house again, YAY.

Another failed attempt.
Training yesterday was omg omg YUCKS. We ran a total of 12km at Mac, 4km was time trial. It was terrible for me, I seriously detest running in the rain. Makes me hot and cold and I felt so feverish! :( Timing sucked like crap, far from Mr Irwan's target, but well at least I didn't stop. I desperately wanna get back my fitness!!! My stupid friend says I must trust myself again. Haha been texting, chatting, spending them with my stupid friend and having lots of fun. Thanks for always making me HIGH like you, happy and encouraging me to continue training hard! :D You must too!! Anyway, some of us went to Wanching's house after trng to study. It was productive only for a short time haha but at least we did some work :) Pictionary for 3 hours was extremely exciting. The girls kept screaming while Edmund and Sashti were emotionless. I never played this real version of Pictionary before so I guess we were all entertained by it. But sadly, the right side of the room has lousy fengshui cos my group lost all the rounds!!! :( Left at 6.30pm and I took one half hour to reach home!! =X It's worst travelling from Sembawang then from Changi Airport by bus. Exhausted by the time I came home, I slept for 11hours!

Anyway, more photos from track camp as promised! (: It's mostly my group's photos. Haha more unglam shots on KM.
First game of the day, Dirty Salad making. Haha yucks.

Presenting Group 1's Salad! Looks the best but tastes the worst.

The unhygenic Group 2! They used their hands and squeezed the lettuce and oranges =X And My group had to eat it!!!Before Dodgeball, my group was the slowest clocking a time of 3mins while the rest took 1min plus only. Mel was still protecting out dearest egg-Mary Jane, who was killed by Edmund!!!!

This disgusting string dirtied my PE shirt badly. We had to run around with the string connecting us:X Dirty but fun.

First venue for food trail, Tangyuan :)Frog porridge at Chinatown. Haha Adrian and Shem refused to eat it cos Shem described it to have frog juice etc etc. The porridge was nice though!Donut Factory at Velocity. The place which made Qiulin HIGH due to sugar intake:)

Mel dropped part of Qiulin's doughnut. Qiulin was so sad that she picked up the chocolate and ATE it haha.At Cassuarina Curry where Qiulin embarrassed herself :P Realised that Lawrence covers his face in almost every picture! Adrian!!! This is an unglam photo of you! U better not blackmail me anymore!

The sweaty threesome after our 20mins run to Icekimo.

It sure is nice looking at all the pictures that caught us in action. There are alot more so I can't upload all. Go to KM and have a good laugh! :)

Track Camp went as well as we hoped it would, except for that disappointment of not going for the planned night cycling due to the lousy weather :( Makes me feel so heart pain cos I spent $24 on a newbalance tights! Need to try using it as often to make my money worthwhile. Anyway anyway, the icebreakers were of great fun even though we knew each other pretty well already. Station games were terribly DISGUSTING, just imagine eating lettuce with tomatoes, cucumber, lemon and SOYA SAUCE. I almost felt like puking while we ate =X Although I must admit my group had a good laugh as we consumed such inedible stuff. The other station games were wet and dirty, threw away my pe shirt cos the curry stains were impossible to remove. Haha doesn't matter, I'm just glad we all had fun thru the games, thanks Grace and Loms for planning them. Watched The Others at night, it's a thriller and the guys sitting behind us kept scaring us thru all means possible like screaming and putting their hands on our shoulders! Gosh, I was so worried I would get nightmares cos of some frightening scenes. Forrest Grump after that, a touching show but I was too tired by then. Had a good chat with mq before we slept at arnd 1am. It was such a cold night and all of us were freezing despite the fans at speed 1. But it was a good night sleep! (: Food trail the next day was very exciting, especially for my group! We kept our sprits high through the 6 hours, entertaining ourselves at every station. I must say my group's really smart cos they broke all the clues by themselves! To think we even ran from Icekimo to Cassaurina curry, a 20minutes run. Haha and qiulin went so high after her sugar intake and made me running around with her! It was such great fun with them and I wished to go through this all over again :D I guess this camp achieved its aims of bonding those people who were not as close previously. I definitely got to know some of them better, how some are not as innocent as they look and how some of them are actually so caring and thoughful. Right now, there's nothing more I could ask from the team, except that we'll all be as united and train hard tgt! (:

A team shot after camp ended. More photos another time! (:

And today, my family and I went to Qian Hu fish farm for FISH SPA. Haha what an experience. Gurraff fishes biting of the dead skin of your feet, it's extremey ticklish. I kept fidgeting, scaring away all the fishes. Haha $10 for half and hour, I doubt I'll go back again. But I guess it was quite fun (:

Sis,me,mum,niece,bro!

Our reaction when we first put our legs in. Very ticklish!!!! =S

My feet!!! My brother-in-law's feet had so many more fishes!
And presenting cute little Gwendolyn! Haha :D

TRACK SENIORS' SUPERHEROES FAREWELL PARTYY

I had a reallly good laugh looking at all the many photos. I'm really glad we had a theme to this party, making everyone dress up. I think that just made the atmosphere so much better (:

The absolutely charming M.I.B. =D They all really turned up in tuxedos. I didn't believe when I heard it during trng. But they really looked like one, esp with the ear piece (:

Ex captain Aaron, girls vice Yujia, boys vice Justin. Haha thank you seniors for being so sporty and dressing up as the PPG. Although they were really really unglam :P

Fellow catwoman Grace! (: I give her SECURITY!! HAHA (:

The not so tall ones in TRACK. haha.

Melissa and I playing the 'newspaper' game. We lost our balance when Yujia tickled us! =X

THE AWESOME TRACK FAMILY. The people who make life in NJ so enjoyable :D My greatest LOVE.
While waiting for Lom's mum. Thank you Grace and Shalom for ur greatest help for this party! (: The christmas tree in the background makes it seem like we were in town or smtg. Haha.
More photos another time.
