2008 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore GrandPrix

I went to witness this historic event yesterday with my mother and brother and was certainly impressed! It was so awesome, I definitely didnt regret spending the night at the street circuit because it was such an eye opener :D City link was so congested, everywhere around that area was. People who didn't have the tickets trying to peer over the barricades to catch a glimpse of the F1 racing. The whirring sound made by the engines just seemed to have liven up the atmosphere in the city.

It was quite an unforgettable experience alogether even though I'm not a fan of F1. But once you reach the street circuit, you can feel all the hype and excitement. It made me really proud of Singapore, really. It's amazing how we could stage such a big scale event within a short time despite being such a small country. Hahaha what does this show? Never look down on small people too! ;)

This is probably the closest I could take of an F1 car. Haha they were moving at a speed at about 300km/h which made it almost impossible to catch anything with our digital camera. Out of the twenty over shots, we had a success rate of 0%. Haha the above picture was actually taken from the big screen. Oh and we saw the car which bumped into the concrete slab and drove in the wrong direction! I was still telling my brother how dangerous it was if there was an approaching car. Then in came out in the papers today that he was fined 20,000euros! Oh my, so much money.. But seriously, F1's really quite cool! :) And Singapore has done a wonderful job with entertainment all around too. Managed to catch this band from France which was performing at the Esplanade stage and they sang really well. 'Austin Powers' and his girls came along which got a few people from the audience dancing away haha.

So today and tomorrow is my sis and bro-in-law's turn to go thus my little niece is left in our care! She's so adorable especially now that she can walk although she can get very mischievious. Looking at her grow day by day makes me feel that life is really a miracle :) Anyway this is my cute little niece, Gwen with her new favourite cartoon-Pocoyo! Haha actually it's the first time I heard about it when my sis told me.. HAHA it's probably the new age cartoon, no longer those of our era-Barney and Teletubbies.

Looks like I'm more motivated to study hard now! :D
Heh my class REALLY is smart. Teachers been praising us, how well we did for Prelims ranking us one of the top class in terms of perentage passes and number of A/B. Haha though sadly I only contributed for Maths. Mr Yong's pleased with our class attitude, talked about our class to his civics class. Mr Wee's impressed that we still did relatively well although 10 of us are appeal/DSA students. So all these really made me wanna do as well as how my classmates are doing, yeah a kind of peer pressure I guess? And although I did really badly for Physics, Mr Yong said as long as we work hard, A levels surely can do well=get A. Hahah and he certainly has high expectations on us, 100% A/B, 75% A. We really gotta work hard! :)
I think all the stress and amount of revision to be done has made some of my classmates really cranky. Wanching and Vanessa had one dumb silly lame conversation/joke that really cracked some of us haha.
WC:Vanessa, what's your favourite word?
V:I don't have one.
WC then drew this on her V's pencilcase -> (1111111)
WC: Now you have many ONES!
Omg how retarded and stupid yet it made us laugh. Hahaha just look at what studying has done to us.

AHHH the heat is killing me. It's such a hot day I can't study! And it seems like I'm coming online more often than before, especially when I get so bored studying. I want 18 Nov to come quickly, I seriously cannot wait. I got so sick for studying today that I started doodling, and drew up the A Level schedule. Hahah yes, I've got nothing better to do.. But I think it's quite pretty, makes the wall a little more colourful :)

Speaking of drawings, Yongjian drew me something really cute yesterday during GP. Referred to the Spongebob on my file, it's quite similar! Thank you, it really made me smile!! :D And with people like Wendy and Vanessa constantly imitating each other, it certainly makes school life less mundane. Plus Suyi never ending stories about her life and how she's always high and happy until school ends, haha I'm glad I've classmates like them :)

:(
Prelims results are below expectations, always seem to miss by 2 marks to the next grade. Sometimes I wonder if it's good to be in a smart class where most people perform above average leaving you a little demoraelised if you're not one of the high flyers. Ahh feeling a little disappointed so watched the video I made for silly, ate my favourite honey stars with yoghurt snack in an attempt to cheer me up. Oh well, I'm sad but I'll wake up tmr being the happy lynette again :) It's really time to study hard cos A's ultimately more impt and I guess Prelims isn't a very good guage? But I guess I should be pleased that I improved like 2 or 3 grades from CT so that's good?
Hmmm at least I managed to make silly's day! Glad you liked the video :)

I guess I've rested enough, time to hit those books again :(
Had a good 4 days break from studies and there's so much on my mind. Yeah, probably have been thinking alot and different things been happening in my life. Few days back, chatted to Yingmin again after how many months, probably almost more than a year and it made me feel really happy (: Was typing out the farewell speech I delivered back in Crescent for her reference and it made me reminsce those good ole days again. Ahhh yes I sure miss Crescent tons. Still remembered how I choked on my words while delievering the speech and saying warmest regrets instead or regards which made the whole auditorium burst into laughter. Here's an extract of the speech which I realised came through in the end!

Now it’s not the time to say you can’t, but it is for you to tell yourself you can, you will and you must. We have all worked tremendously hard towards a common goal, that is to ace our O’ Level exams. Let us come back to Crescent in March next year to celebrate our good O’ Level results and to pat ourselves on the backs for a job well done. Some may cry, but those are not tears of disappointment but tears of joy. We must have faith to overcome all difficulties and finally fight a good battle.

Haha it feels like eons since I last delievered a speech, probably on Speech day last year, really forgotten how it feels like to be standing at the podium already=/ But well, time passing by so quickly these days, it's going to be 2 years in NJ. Graduating from this school in perhaps about a month's time and then it'll be A's and 2008 will end. I really wonder how different life would be without school. Hmmm only time will tell.

Prelims are finally over after a torturous month =/ So it's time to enjoy a while before preparing for the final A's! Omg some of my friends are like starting to study again today!! To think I thought starting next week was still considered early. Anyway, realised I've really been spending lots of time with my class lately. Perhaps its the exam period plus training has stopped. Wednesday after our last paper we went cafe cartel for lunch. I think it was the most successful class outing, 23/24 seriously not bad (:

6 of the girls walked from PS to Suntec after that. We kind of explored Singapore a little haha saw the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Grand Prix.

Yesterday the girls went shopping, the guys went sentosa hahah. Took a train with Suyi toe meet the rest. It's been a long time since we chatted properly since we kinda drifted afetr the first 3 months both caught up with our own commitments. But it was a really nice chat about everything? Haha r/s, studies, friends, parties etc etc etc. Maybe talking to her broadened by views about some issues. I'm always envious of her good language haha. While shopping, Vanessa and I felt so cheated ahh I think you should only buy clothes from Cotton on when it's on sale. Like the shorts now costs 1/4 the price I previously paid =/ We went Vivo after that and waited for about 2 hours for the guys. Spent out time at the book shop Pageone, they sell much cheaper books compared to elsewhere! Was reading through some cookbooks haha I wanna cook more nice dishes! After dinner we met the guys and chilled out at the rooftop. Never stayed out so late but really, it's nice at night :) Though there were so many couples around us trying to enjoy the scenery and we were making so much noise playing Truth and Dare, Shoot Shag Marry. Yeah orientation games. The guys were entertaining us with their embarrassing dares, things that no one would do in public! I laughed so much last night that my tummy hurt quite badly haha but we did have great fun :D

There are a few people I need to meet up since I wasnt able to do so during the holidays! We need to find them despite our hectic schedule somehow! Ahhhh miss miss miss.

Now I know how it feels like to be unprepared:(

This morning I woke up still with the headache I slept with, my legs were wobbly, tummy queasy, feeling nauseous.. It was such a terrible feeling so I texted nessa to bring me panadol since I was already on my way to school. She brought the strong one, but I still ate it and felt way better. Maybe it's all in the mind, thinking that one pill would cure me of all the pains. I guess it's true what she told me the other day that when you sleep feeling good, you'll wake up feeling good! Heh cause last night I was so scared for physics since I knew I didn't put in as much effort in revising for it. True enough it was quite terrible for me. And when MrLim said we did better than expected for paper 3, Wendy and I were thinking "He's probably not referring to me." Hahah oh wells, at least it's over? The night before my brother and I were reading the Bible since he as feeling nervy(his own word) as he said.. He told me a phrase like if only worry could give you some marks. Yeah but one verse I remembered in Proverbs sections was "Do you best, prepare for the worst- then trust God to bring victory" (:

Chemistry tmr and it's over! Chemistry gotta be better than Physics!

So much for being disciplined.

I can't believe how I spent this September holidays. Not that I've been enjoying myself, I just haven't been studying and that's bad:( I've been thinking too much about unimportant stuff. Now I'm feeling really quite scared for Physics and Chem. Then again, I've only myself to blame for slacking and thinking there's alot of time!! Ahh the only productive times were the 2h at Chem Crash course everyday. At least I did learn some stuff then. But apart from that, I barely did any proper revision I think I'm so dead =/ Doing other schools Chem Prelim papers made me even more demoraelised cos I can't seem to pass MCQ! Oh man, I've the next 2 days to make up for all the time lost during the hols. It's kind of last minute but nothing I can do now :( BOO.

On a random note, I think I've got the cutest class hahah cos I just saw some other photos from teachers' day with all the silly poses :)
