WHITE HOUSES;

my dirty little secrets.

It has been a hectic week, and next week will be just as hectic.

Things haven't exactly been going my way this week sadly, work has just been so stressful. I hardly understand why I'm going the extra mile to do so many things for the company when I'm just a part-timer. Maybe it's just in me, to give my best in everything I've been assigned to do. But I realised while that may be a positive trait, it may not be all that good. I find it totally unfair when part-timers are doing all they could to ensure every programme is delivered to the best and yet full-timers seem unconcerned about the way things would turn out. It irritates me more to find myself doing every single thing for the project, working OT because I know I should complete it and yet people can just leave office punctually perhaps because they can hardly find anymore things to do. But that's just rubbish because the least they could do is to lend a helping hand to us. Our boss recognises our effort of working till 8pm the past 2 nights and even returning to work on Saturday when we are not paid to do so. And the reason why we're doing so is to ensure we are prepared for the whole week of programmes we have next week. I think I have always been so stretched by work and the final straw was on Thursday evening when I was suddenly thrown with some terrible attitude and tasks. I just broke down and it was so bad especially after my boss keeps telling me it isn't worthwhile doing all these. All along I've never asked for a pay rise, or never said 'no' to anything that I was asked to do even when I had to use my own time to get some things completed. And that exactly is the problem because when you're nice you simply get taken advantaged of and people are hardly appreciative of what you do. They just know they don't have to worry cos I'll get things done. After all that has happened, I know I've gotta change to ensure there won't be a second time this happens. There's so much frustration in me and unhappiness about the system in the company really and letting part of it out on Thursday really made me feel much better after the 2 months I've been working here. Thanks dear for coming to hear me out. Seriously, despite going through so much stress, so much frustration etc I don't wanna quit just yet. Perhaps it's because I want to help the company and make sure things get sorted somehow, don't ask me why. It just doesn't make sense for a part-timer to think so much of the future of the company when others don't seem to care. I guess it's because we don't wanna see our boss suffering alone in time to come? I've really no idea, but from now, I know I need to learn how to say no...

Whatever unhappiness I've experienced while preparing for programmes, I gotta admit the happiness and satisfaction obtained from coaching outweights the sadness thankfully. Friday was the last of 6 sessions we conducted at Parkview Pri to groom them into confident public speakers. It was such an enjoyable experience and I will sure miss those lovely kids. Esp the adorable boy (the one in front of me in the picture below)in my class :)

Sick again.
I seriously wish to know what is wrong with me! It seems like I have a really weak immune system because I've been falling ill once a month this year! And now, with the outbreak of the H1N1 virus, each time you sneeze/cough, you're bound to get people who would give you the 'I think you should be resting at home look.' It's always the same things I'm suffering from and it really gets quite irritating when you're ill. Weak all over, can't stop coughing, nose is blocked etc etc. Plus the weather these days just makes it worst, cos one moment it can be blazing hot, and the next moment it is raining cats and dogs. Yesterday, I had to carry 35tomatoes, 13 cucumbers and 60 pieces of tablecloth from the market back home for one of the projects for work. It was so extremely heavy, I think I strained my back from the weight of it, and when I reached home I was drenched in perspiration, aching all over! Seriously gotta start running or rather exercising again to be fitter and strong.I keep saying that but yet keep procrastinating at the same time so I've not been able to get myself in the running attire. But I Really don't like the way I'm falling sick so easily these days, feeling a little guilty of passing germs to those around me. I am gonna take a flu jab one of these days soon! Not because of the recent scare of the H1N1 outbreak, but rather I think it makes more sense to get a vaccine that may protect me with the flu virus that I've been getting of late then to pay so much for medical bills each month. Hopefully, I won't be running a temperature anytime soon again.

When you ain't feeling well, you just can't help thinking about all the different things that are happening to you and wondering if there is a reason for everything. Just like how I can never seem to find a reason why I always take the effort to do things that are out of my convenience for the sake of others. Why I seem to try to help the company save money even though it's for that few dollars. Why I am such a perfectionist that results in undue worry and stress and my part. This month of May is such a hectic period, with schools having their post-exam activites. I look at the calendar of events coming up and I am worried that we may not be able to deliver a programme of high standards. Once again, unnecessary stress given to myself. It's weird cos I seem to know why I'm feeling this way yet I just can't seem to change the way I think.

On a brighter note, I got an interview on Monday! :) Was elated to recieve the call but that happiness has translated into a slight apprehension as I haven't went for an interview for a long time it seems; the last being the DSA one back in 2006. And this time, it's gonna be so different and formal I don't know if there's anything I need to prepare for. I hope all turns well, unlike the psychometric test I took last week which I failed to complete all the questions for the Maths section...
